On March 24, 2026, the City of St. Helena proudly turns 150 years old! To honor this remarkable milestone, we’re planning a full year of events and festivities that celebrate the charm, history, and spirit of the town we call home.

Each month will feature a unique theme, inviting our community to explore St. Helena's past, celebrate the present, and look forward to the future. From lectures and social gatherings to family-friendly activities, there will be something for everyone to enjoy throughout the year.

Join us for an old-fashioned fundraiser as we raise the roof and raise the funds to sponsor the big block party to take place in September. Tickets are on sale for this over 21 event.

Happy Birthday St. Helena

Tuesday March 24, 2026
4:00pm at Lyman Park

Celebrate the official date of incorporation as we unveil a special plaque to mark the occasion. The ceremony begins at Lyman Park at 4:00 p.m.

Following the dedication friends and neighbors are invited to stroll along Main Street for a Birthday Happy Hour from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. Shops and restaurants will feature special offerings and strolling musicians will add to the festive mood of the day.

The Napa Valley Wine Train is joining the party!
A special train will depart Napa on March 24 and
bring passengers to town to celebrate.

The Sesquicentennial Parade

Main Street, St. Helena

The Sesquicentennial Parade kicks off at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday April 25, 2026. Honoring the past and celebrating the present, the route will begin at SHHS and make its way down Main Street ending in a community celebration at Lyman Park. Small town. Big Parade.

A Year of Celebrations

Discover a year filled with lectures, social gatherings, and family fun — each month bringing a new theme to celebrate 150 years of community and connection in our little town!

  • This is our month to gear up and get everything in place for the big birthday!

  • This month we will celebrate the First Peoples of the St. Helena area and explore The Native American and indigenous influence before we were St. Helena.  Learn about the first human inhabitants of this area; what drew them here and their fate as Europeans,  Mexican then U.S. settlers arrived here.

    History Talk at St. Helena Public Library
    April 12th at 4:00pm

    Learn about 19th century St. Helena and a special citizen, a feminist and a philanthropist Emily Chabot. Karen Mireau presents: “The Life and Times of Emily Chabot”.     May 2, 2026 at Bale Grist Mill

    Join us for music, merriment, and delicious pancakes beneath the great water wheel of the historic mill. Celebrate history and support our parks! Check back for details.

    Merryvale Summer Concert Series
    Friday May 15, 2026
    5:00 – 7:00 p.m.

    Merryvale is dedicating one of its summer concerts to the history of St. Helena wineries. Once known as “Sunny St. Helena”, this site has a rich history in the wine industry. Join Merryvale owners, Laurence and Rene’ Schlatter invite the community to an open house in conjunction with their summer concert series. Take a tour, talk with local historian Miriam Hansen, enjoy a splash of wine, and learn how this beautiful property played an important role in St. Helena’s past. No cost to attend. Wine will be for sale on the terrace.

    An Americana Musical Jubilee!

    Saturday May 17, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at The St. Helena Performing Arts Center

    Presented by Craig Bond & the St. Helena Choral Society

    Step back in time for a joyful concert honoring St. Helena’s 150th anniversary with American music from the 1876 era and beyond! Join the St. Helena Choral Society and fellow Napa Valley musicians for a heartwarming, toe-tapping tribute to bygone times—honoring the way music has always connected neighbors, families, and communities.

  • This month, we celebrate our diverse agricultural history – from cattle and wheat to grapes to fruits to nuts and our world-famous wine grapes!

  • America celebrates the 250-year anniversary of signing of The Declaration of Independence, 100 years before St. Helena was born.

    A Paella Dinner and auction in the very heart of St. Helena History – More details to follow.

  • As the local wine grape harvest begins, we will review our significant world class wine history and also the Ag Preserve, a first-in-the-nation creation.

    St. Helena Historical Society will once again team up with the St. Helena Drama Department for their annual cemetery tour. Each year, the St. Helena Historical Society feature different citizens of St. Helena that were a part of our history.

  • St. High High School celebrates Homecoming every fall, and this year, we are making it an even bigger parade with floats, and entries honoring our past, present, and future.

  • We are so fortunate to have small town friends and neighbors. Join us at The Barrel Tree as we celebrate the special bond we share in St. Helena.

  • As the year of celebration comes to an end, let’s have one final toast to the past and to the future of St. Helena.
